Linzi Hateley

Linzi Hateley was born in Birmingham and trained at the Italia Conti Academy. At the age of seventeen she was cast in the leading role of CARRIE in the R.S.C.'s production, which played at Stratford before transferring to Broadway, where Linzi received the prestigious ’Theatre World Award for Best Newcomer’ given by the New York critics.

Back in England, Linzi has been seen in the West End as Eponine in LES MISERABLES, at the Tricycle Theatre as The Kolo-Kolo Bird in JUST SO, at the London Palladium as The Narrator opposite Jason Donovan, Philip Schofield and Darren Day in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. For this role Linzi was nominated for an Olivier Award and received gold and platinum discs for the cast album. She appeared at the Dominion as Rizzo in GREASE and as PETER PAN opposite Robert Powell.

Linzi appeared as Hortense in the Chichester Festival Theatre's production of DIVORCE ME, DARLING! and four times at the Haymarket Theatre, Leicester in INTO THE WOODS, THE RINK, OLIVER! and ON YOUR TOES. At the Bridewell, she appeared in MOVING ON, a Sondheim review and LOVE SONGS, a one woman show written by Charles Hart. Linzi returned to the R.S.C and Stratford to play Martha in THE SECRET GARDEN which transferred to the Aldwych Theatre. She played the role of Roxy in CHICAGO at the Adelphi Theatre and is has recently been seen reprising her role. She played the role of Mrs Banks in the original cast of MARY POPPINS at the Prince Edward Theatre. Linzi played Florence in the Scandinavian Tour of CHESS.  Linzi is currently playing Donna in MAMMA MIA at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Her films include JULIE AND THE CADILLACS and most recently A CHRISTMAS CAROL for Hallmark Television.

Linzi has performed her cabaret show BROADWAY BABY throughout England and was Betty Buckley's special guest in her concert at Carnegie Hall. She has also made three solo albums.
